Okay! it’s agreed Life has its way of teaching lessons. I Probably felt i could live my life according to the way i desire to even though, i keep getting to know it doesn’t work that way.
As a graduate aspiring greater heights and level, the next on the list was service (NYSC) which actually determines and puts to a halt activities or events that would have been. I can recall vividly the day of registration i.e NYSC registration. Looking at the long broadcast messages which i reluctantly read, i could tell i was in for something. The registration was quite a battle which was actually expected. I had brooded over and over on the states to choose as my choice. I concluded on my states of choice believing a family friend was definitely going to help in the deployment to Oyo state– as i was tired of Lagos aside the slim chance of getting Lagos. So it was decided, i chose Kaduna, Kwara, Oyo and Edo as i was about submitting, my eyes caught a sentence stating Nysc had the right to take me to a place other than my states of choice. I ignored it immediately saying i am going to Oyo with a supposed faith.

Days kept rolling over amidst the thoughts of the unknown. 17th May, 2017 the anxiety became overwhelming. I was one of those who checked the state of deployment in the midnight at around 2 a.m of 18th May. On viewing my dashboard, it was stated boldly and strikingly in red that i was not in stream one but in stream two. I felt really sad after recalling the struggles of registering on the first day of registration . I slept feeling sad and having a disturbed mind. I woke up the next morning by the sound of my phone ringing loudly. It was Joshy. Picking the call, he hurriedly said ‘Good morning i have been deployed to Kogi he spoke as though he couldn’t wait a second longer to reveal his plight of going where he did not want to. He asked about mine and i told him stream two. We ended the conversation with him persuading me to check my NYSC account once more. So i did as he said. The Network had no other time to be extremely slow. My anxiousness had reached it’s peak along side my mum questioning me angrily. I left the phone and tried to keep my mind busy. On viewing the downloaded page, i saw state of deployment: Kebbi State. Immediately i remembered the state and capital song. I laughed sarcastically and told my mum. She just looked in a way that seemed like–tór ò pàri. Preparations occurred speedily.

At a transport company: Cross Country i got to know that it was a 24 hours trip to Kebbi, i started preparing my mind for the journey ahead. The beginning of an adventure.
