I lay on my belly whilst using one hand to play with my son and the other to type and I ponder about what it means to have an authentic heart.
Words that recoil in my conscious mind are being sincere and being true to yourself.
How can we then connect being sincere and true to oneself? It might mean that we have an expression of authenticity to ourselves and others.
Towards others, we are sincere in our approach, in our dealings and the core of who we are is rooted in being true to ourselves. We do not say something is wrong when we know it is right. We can’t see evil and let evil reign. We put a stop to something that is not right not because we are perfect but because we won’t have peace not doing what we know is right. There’s a burning desire for what we feel strongly about hence such folks are likely to fulfill their purpose without even realizing it. They are greatly attuned to what they need to be doing and allow themselves to feel everything they need to feel to do what lives in their mind.
What does that say of me and you? Authenticity isn’t just a state of being it is an embrace of ourselves, of what we stand for and of what we are called to do even whilst there might be obstacles; it is being where one wants to be regardless of life circumstances. It is learning to be the best version of yourself and truly embracing who you are beyond what the world thinks.
The journey of life certainly comes with ups and downs whilst having an authentic heart may mean being true to yourself, it however, could mean understanding when to let go of ideas, persona or situations that no longer feels true to you or a reflection of yourself. Being authentic is understanding that you will grow and evolve feel differently about things that once meant a lot to you and that too is fine.
Your authenticity isn’t for the world to define, it is for you to embrace, embody and live out on your understanding of the blend of the many ‘yous’ “The Spirit, Soul and Body”
This life is too deep and personal to live off of trends, programming and worldly expectations.
We are called on earth to run a race personal to our purpose, void of people’s expectations and meaningful to God’s Agenda. Live It!
